being human... last night i watched Start Trek: Nemesis, the latest flick from your favorite primetime TV space explorers, and the message that stayed with me was exactly what the writers had meant to pass on --to be human is to strive to be better than you are... we are a race bred for heavenly greatness, a people set apart, a cultural mix of saved sinners... we 'own' heaven, but why do we act as if we'll never amount to anything?... it's entertainment to see fictional characters on TV portray our underachiever mentality, but it isn't funny anymore when society around us actually mimic such mediocrity... this isn't doom-gloom prophecy... an astute observation is all... "tell me... do you recognize yourself today?"...
